...I agree with one minor complaint pointed out by other evaluators. Overall, the drill works great with plenty of power and a solid chuck. The tool's only flaw is in the speed control. I note that though the drill is supposed to have variable speed control, that control is not very sensitive and it tends to jump from one speed to the next. It does tend to hold that speed once you stop moving the trigger and maintains that speed but it is difficult to find any particular speed you may want. This is usually not a big problem but something a purchaser may want to know.Overall, a good tool with a good "feel". I'm pleased with my purchase, Turn Key.A bit difficult to control the speed as others have noted. But still an outstanding drill. I like the keyed chuck which holds bits much better than the keyless ones that seem to be popular. This is the best drill of many that I have had.to replace a 20 year old drill.has more power and easy to find in a dark tool box !!Great drill for the money. Well made of what appears to be durable materials. Bought it because it has a chuck key to tighten a bit or screw tip. Impressive performance. Responsive trigger. Definitely no regrets! I would buy it again, but I do not think I’ll need to anytime soon.Excellent purchase. Exactly what I was looking for.Unfortunately, I had to give up on my older Porter Cable drill for lack of replacement parts. It was powerful and speed control was smooth at all ranges, though it was by no means light weight. The DeWalt that I replaced it with was full of surprises. It also has lots of power and speed control is smooth and positive like the Porter. It weighs much less and is convenient to use. I was impressed. I was looking for a high quality drill with a key-type chuck, and I think the DeWalt meets the goal. I need a chuck that will handle the load of a powerful drill, and I have not yet met a keyless device that can take the load. I do wish they would just provide the standard all steel chuck that we have used all these years instead of a combination plastic and steel chuck. I haven't had any trouble with it yet, but sometimes it isn't necessary to change what works. I hope it holds up. Overall, the DeWalt is a great drill and exceeds my expectations.all good.Very good quality. Good torque, but I probably should’ve gone with the next more powerful one for drilling deep into tree stumps.I got so tired of keyless chucks and charging drill batteries, I ordered this instead.I am very happy with the drill. It is very powerful and can drill large holes through wet wood no problem. The keyed chuck is a dream - you know your drill bit is secure and you won't have to waste time using pliers trying to extract drill bits from your project. The only thing I would like to be different is an easier way to control the speed. There's no dial to select a speed, you have to manually control the trigger - either squeeze harder or lighter - which can be hard to control. I'm not sure I would recommend this drill to beginners or people who are not strong for this reason and the fact it has such a high torque. You need to really have a firm grip on it at all times. The kickback is very powerful if your drill bit gets stuck and you could really hurt yourself if you are not careful.Drill started working intermittently and even gave some sparks shock to user. Cant get ahold of mississauga dewalt. No-one answers phone. Waited for 40 minutes on hold and then went to busy signal. Not happy with Dewalt drills. I then tried London....no answer, then tried Ottawa no answer.Handy little drill and quite powerful. The only downside is I keep losing the drill chuck key. A little more thought could have been put in to secure better. I've basically just tied a string to the drill and tie the chuck on it... not the most convenient, but at least I can find it when I need to.This is a powerful drill but I must have a heavy finger as I was unable to run at lower speed so it made it impossible to do some drillingIt is a very good corded drill but hard to control the speed with the trigger. I have a battery Dewalt drill where it is very easy to control the speed. I would not use this drill to screw in drywall as I would end up putting the screw through the drywall. It goes from slow to blast off with very little control in between!
